(Jones County, IA) -- A plea and sentencing hearing for a man accused of fatally shooting a Monticello Fareway employee last year is set.
Nathan Russell is facing first degree murder charges in the shooting that happened in November of 2023. Investigators are calling the shooting a random act of violence. Police say Russell then fled from the scene of the shooting, where he was shot by a Sheriff's Deputy after a chase.
\He was taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries. His hearing will take place on June 4th at the Jones County Courthouse.
