Sewer Pipe Break Impacts Papio Creek System In Southwest Omaha

City of Omaha Public Works says crews are working at the scene of a sewer pipe collapse in southwest Omaha.

They say the sewer pipe collapsed into Hell Creek near 116th and "U" Streets Monday morning.

The city says an unknown amount of untreated sewage escaped the sewer system flowing directly into the creek and impacting West Papillion Creek south of Harrison Street.

Crews were able to contain the escaping flows late Monday afternoon.
