Another Davenport Apartment Building Evacuated Due To Poor Conditions

(Davenport, IA) -- Another Quad Cites apartment building is being evacuated due to unsafe living conditions.

Tenants at 330 Oak Street in Davenport were ordered to vacate Tuesday by the city.

No details were given as to the issues with the building.

The city is working with the landlord to help tenants find alternate accommodations.

The building is at the southwest corner of Oak and West 4th Street, west of Division Street.

Three men were killed when a downtown Davenport apartment building partially collapsed just over a year ago.

A group is lobbying the city of Davenport to allow tenants to withhold rent from landlords who don't keep their properties in livable condition.
