(Waukee, IA) -- A Waukee man pleads guilty to charges of financial fraud.
51 year-old William Berg has pleaded guilty to wire fraud and money laundering. Investigators say from January of 2019 until May of 2023, Berg falsely acted as a financial advisor and defrauded more than a dozen people out of roughly $1.5 million dollars. Berg faces up to 20 years in prison for wire fraud and up to 10 years in prison for money laundering.
He'll be sentenced on October 11th of this year.
