Illinois Commits Half-Billion To Quad Cities Infrastructure Projects

(Rock Island, IL) -- The Illinois Department of Transportation is announcing the largest infrastructure investment in state history.

The six year, project will funnel nearly half-a-billion dollars to the Quad Cities for rebuilding the John Deere Road interchange at I-74, rebuilding the I-80 Mississippi River Bridge, and the 27th Street Rock River Bridge in Moline, and fund new terminal construction at the Quad Cities Airport.

The Rebuild Illinois Plan also includes $225-million in funding for Iowa Interstate Railroad improvements for passenger rail service between the Quad Cities and Chicago.

All total, the state is committing 41-billion dollars to infrastructure improvement statewide.
