(Bettendorf, IA) -- The city of Bettendorf is settling lawsuits over a crash on the I-74 Bridge pedestrian path that killed two men.
City Council is passing a resolution saying settling is in their best interest, though the city is not admitting fault.
Chabria Harris is serving a 20-year sentence for Aggravated DUI Causing Death after prosecutors say she drove onto the bridge pathway in May 2022, killing two men, aged 18 and 21, and injuring a third.
The lawsuits accuse the city of not properly securing the entrance to the pathway against vehicle access.
