(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A Cedar Rapids man's facing charges after police say he discharged a handgun in the air outside a bar in the 200 block of 2nd Street SE. Police say 28-year-old Johnny Gonzalez got into a fight with others at the bar, who say he tried to sexually assault someone there early Sunday morning. He's been taken to the Linn County Jail.
Gonzalez was booked at the Linn County Jail on the following charges:
- Carrying a Firearm While Intoxicated
- Assault while Displaying a Dangerous Weapon – (two counts)
- Reckless Use of a Firearm
- Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse
- Interference with Official Acts
- Public Intoxication
