(Lenox, IA) -- One man is dead after a bank robbery led to a high speed chase in southwestern Iowa.
The Taylor County Sheriff's Office says it received reports of the bank robbery around 1:30 Monday afternoon. Investigators say the armed suspect went into the bank and demanded money before speeding away on a motorcycle.
Authorities chased the suspect until he crashed in a field. He then fled on foot. Investigators say as law enforcement approached, the suspect drew a gun and fatally shot himself.
The suspect's name has not been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
