(Iowa City, IA) -- A Cedar Rapids man charged with voluntary manslaughter reaches a deal with prosecutors.
Antonio Scotton is facing charges in the deathof Waymond Thomas. Court documents say Scotton and another person were part of an assault when Thomas and one of his friends confronted them, leading to a fight. Records say Thomas' friend dropped a gun, which Scotton then picked up and fired. Thomas was shot and later died of his injuries.
So far, no details about the agreement between prosecutors and Scotton have been released.
