(Des Moines, IA) -- 350 guns are in storage as evidence at the Des Moines Police Department as of the end of last month.
DMPD says 58 guns were recovered just in the month of June. Among those 58 gun confiscations include:
- 10 connected to shooting investigations
- 7 taken from suspects in possession of illegal drugs
- 4 confiscated from convicted felons
- 2 taken from minors
Of the 58 guns recovered in June of this year, 50% were recovered by street cops.
