(Des Moines, IA) -- Crews are starting to remove a very large log jam near the confluence of the Raccoon and Des Moines Rivers.
Des Moines Public Works Director Jonathan Gano says heavy rains have washed a lot of trees and logs down river, creating the log jam.
Crews will be working near the SW 1st Street Trail Bridge.
Meredith Trail is closed from the SW 1st Bridge to the 5th Street Bridge while crews remove the log jam.
