Omaha Scooter-Vehicle Collision Investigated

Omaha Police say officers were sent to the area of 102nd and Grant Streets late Thursday afternoon on a call of a child riding a scooter being struck by a vehicle.

Officers discovered an 11- year- old female had entered the roadway from a driveway while riding an electric scooter and was struck by a northbound Jeep Compass.

Investigators say the un-helmeted child was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call "Omaha Crime Stoppers" anonymously at 402-444-STOP.
