(Des Moines, IA) -- City crews in Des Moines and Urbandale have been clearing away debris, caused by Monday's EF-1 rated tornado. The National Weather Service says the twister had top speeds of 100-miles per hour and was on the ground for about seven miles.

Des Moines Public Works Director Jonathan Gano says Glendale Cemetery, Waveland Golf Course, and nearby areas have heavy tree damage. The city has closed the cemetery to the public for a couple of days so crews an clean up the tree debris. That includes a popular recreational trail at Glendale. Crews spent Monday night and most of the day Tuesday clearing residential streets of trees and large branches. MidAmerican Energy crews also continue to clear away downed power lines and replace multiple, damaged power poles.

Gano says the city will provide a curbside collection in neighborhoods where there was damage.
