(Appanoose County, IA) -- A body recovered at Rathbun Lake is being identified as that of a California man.
The Appanoose County Sheriff's Office says an abandoned boat was reported to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Tuesday around 11am. The DNR found the boat with two dogs inside. Emergency crews conducted a search of the lake and eventually found the body of a man who had been seen fishing Sunday.
The man's identity has not been released, and his death remains under investigation.
