(Des Moines, IA) -- There's an update on a story about a body recovered from the Des Moines River. Police say the body of 39-year-old Christopher Sheets of Des Moines was found July 13th near the SE 6th Street Bridge, near the confluence of the Des Moines Rive and the Raccoon River.
Divers attempted to rescue Sheets from the river the morning of July 12th, after a report that a person was seen struggling in the water near SW 2nd Street. Rescue efforts were suspended due to dangerous conditions, caused by a fast current and debris.
