Quad Cities Area Municipalities Institute Special Pickups For Storm Debris

(Davenport, IA) -- Several Quad Cities area municipalities have instituted special pickups for debris from Monday's derecho.

Moline

Public Works will conduct a special pickup in residential areas beginning Tuesday, July 23. Residents should make sure limbs and brush are under six inches in diameter, under six feet in length and placed at the curb in front of homes. Bushes, shrubs and other typical yard waste will not be collected during this special pickup.

Bettendorf

The city will collect tree/brush material that is under six inches in diameter, cut to a maximum length of five feet and placed at the curb in front of residences. Tree debris, branches, trunks, and stumps from tree removal by a tree service contractor must be removed by a licensed hauler at the owner’s or tree service’s expense.

Davenport

Small debris should be placed in an appropriate yard waste bag with a sticker. Brush and limbs should be bundled, no longer than five feet long and no more than 50 pounds. Property owners with downed trees must find a contractor for removal.

Kewanee

Residents can drop off limbs, branches and natural debris only at the designated collection point at the old Kewanee Hospital Property, 719 Elliot Street. They should enter through 400 block of West Division Street and exit onto Pine Street.
