(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Police Department has more officers patrolling downtown.
In April, DMPD assigned additional officers to downtown Des Moines after complaints of unsafe driving and loud noise. Since then, the Des Moines Police Department has issued roughly 3,500 tickets and made about 100 arrests. The increased police presence is expected to continue through September.
