Lincoln Pedestrian Dead After Being Struck, Police Blame Drugs

(Lincoln, NE) -- One woman is in custody in connection with the death of a man hit by a vehicle in Lincoln Saturday morning. Lincoln police say 30-year-old Vanesa Williams is charged with motor vehicle homicide, after investigators determined she was under the influence of drugs. Police say Williams drove across a raised center median just west of Sun Valley Blvd and West O Street and struck the pedestrian.

The 62-year-old pedestrian was transported, but died at the hospital. Release of his information will be pending notification of his next of kin.

According to Lincoln Police, Williams was determined to be under the influence of drugs, and was cited for felony motor vehicle homicide. Crash investigators have concluded their investigation at the scene.
