(Davenport, IA) -- One person is injured after shots were fired inside an eastern Iowa shopping mall. Police say a Davenport officer, working off-duty at the mall this (Monday) afternoon reported shots inside the mall before 4:30 p.m. prompting additional law enforcement to respond. The mall has been secured and is closed until tomorrow (Tuesday). The injury is described as non-life threatening.
Police are asking people to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
