(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Union workers are demanding the state restore their collective bargaining rights. Under current Iowa law, key issues like healthcare, layoffs, and evaluation procedures are non-negotiable.

At a press conference yesterday, the union and its workers said they want the old guidelines reinstated. They say fair bargaining provides safe, fair working conditions for careers that help better local neighborhoods.

Jesse Case with Teamsters Local 238 in Cedar Rapids says union workers have the respect of the community. Now they need the respect of politicians in Des Moines.
