(Marion, IA) -- The Marion police chief is announcing changes to the hiring process for police officers.
Marion City Council recommended pausing the Civil Service Commission's involvement, saying their oversight was causing delays in filling open positions.
The new process will allow the department to receive applications year-round and conduct preliminary testing monthly.
