(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A house fire Friday morning forces one person out of their home.
Emergency crews responded to reports of the fire around 1:30 Friday morning. The Cedar Rapids Fire Department says the fire was located in the basement of the house and was quickly extinguished. The single resident of the home was able to get out safely, but the home suffered heavy smoke damage.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.
