(Solon, IA) -- A University of Iowa Professor is dead after a crash Sunday in Johnson County.
The Iowa State Patrol says 77 year-old Dr. Usha Mallik was killed after a driver, Thomas Perkins, ran a stop sign around 5:30 Sunday afternoon. Investigators say he hit a towed camper and eventually crashed into another car. The driver of that car was Dr. Mallik, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Perkins was airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Three others were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
