(Rock Island, IL) -- It's the first day of school in the Rock Island-Milan School District, and the first time students at three schools will pass through new weapon detectors, but feedback on the move is already positive.
Charles Butler, School District Safety Manager tells WQAD News 8 that parents feel like their children are enjoying an extra level of security.
The new detectors are at Rocky, Edison, and Washington schools.
