(Dubuque, IA) -- An accident in Dubuque County sends one person to the hospital.
The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office says 58 year-old Kelly Hayes was hit by a car as a pedestrian around 9pm Thursday. Investigators say she was helping to clean up from an earlier accident when she stepped onto the highway. She was hit by an oncoming car and rushed to an area hospital in serious condition.
The name of the driver has not been released, and the crash remains under investigation.
