(LeClaire, IA) -- The only bi-state tug-of-war takes place across the Mississippi River tomorrow.

The 37th Annual Tugfest will see teams on the Iowa side of the river in LeClaire attempt to pull-in more rope than their Illinois rivals in Port Byron.

The 27-hundred foot, 680-pound rope is strung across the Mississippi River between the two towns. The river is closed to navigation during the competition.

Three days of festivities surrounding the tug itself began last night and continue through Saturday night.
