Nevada Homicide Suspect Arrested in Omaha

The Nebraska State Patrol says a patrol investigator arrests a Nevada homicide suspect and locates over 250 suspected fentanyl pills.

The NSP says an investigator at a local business in downtown Omaha smelled marijuana and saw a person in possession of marijuana in plain view.

As the investigator attempted to speak with the person, the man attempted to flee.

The Patrol says the man tried to throw a small package of pills while fleeing the investigator, but the law officer was able to quickly arrest the man.

The NSP says the man is positively identified as 34-year-old Samario Williams, who had an active warrant in connection with a homicide investigation in Las Vegas.

Investigators say the package of pills contained 270 suspected fentanyl pills.

Williams is in Douglas County Corrections for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, flight to avoid arrest, obstructing a peace officer, and the homicide warrant.

NSP is coordinating with the Las Vegas Police Department in the investigation.
