(Rock Island, IL) -- The woman convicted of endangering the life of a child after her son was found dead in her garage is out of prison.
Thirty-eight year-old Sushi Staples from Rock Island, Illinois was released on parole July 25th.
She was sentenced to two years in prison after she pleaded guilty to child endangerment in January.
Investigators found the body of her 10 year-old son Zion in a trash can in the family garage in July of last year, following an accidental shooting in December 2022.
Staples will remain on probation until January.
