(Ames, IA) -- An Iowa State football player's jersey this fall will honor Iowa Senate Majority Leader Jack Whitver. Redshirt junior linebacker Caleb Bacon will wear No. 26 to honor Whitver, who is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor. Whitver was a "walk-on" who played for I-S-U from 1999-2003. He was a two-time Academic All-American while playing for the Cyclones.
