(Moline, IL) -- Deere & Company is telling a Quad Cities area congressman that no more layoffs are planned.
That's the word U.S. Representative Eric Sorensen says Deere leadership told him when he met with them this week.
Sorensen went to John Deere headquarters in Moline to learn more about the ag equipment manufacturer's plans after a series of layoff announcements this year that put 15-hundred production and salaried employees out of work.
The congressman says he was also assured that Deere has no plans to move headquarters out of Moline.
Six-hundred Deere production workers will lose their jobs next Thursday.
