(Keokuk, IA) -- An eastern Iowa man is accused of stealing a dump truck and leading police on a chase through a cemetery.
Keokuk Police say an officer saw a man driving a dump truck and weaving in and out of traffic. They say the truck was pulling a trailer carrying a small excavator. When the officer tried to pull the driver over, police say he refused to stop, leading officers on a chase. During the chase, the trailer and excavator came loose from the truck and hit two parked cars. They say the driver then entered a cemetery, hitting several headstones before police ended the chase.
Police say 48 year-old Joseph Leeper is facing a number of charges.
