(Iowa) --The water buffalo that had been on the loose in the eastern side of the Des Moines metro until earlier this week will live at the Iowa Farm Sanctuary.

After days roaming, the water buffalo, named PHill by those on social media, was captured Wednesday and sent to the Iowa State University Large Animal Clinic for veterinary care. The water buffalo's owner signed custody of the animal over to the Des Moines Police Department, who have since turned PHill over to the Iowa Farm Sanctuary.

PHill will now be one of roughly 140 animals living at the farm.
