(Linn County, IA) -- Drivers in Linn County are being advised of a 6-week long intersection closure beginning today.
The Cedar River Road intersection on Highway 30 is closed while crews add a right turn lane from Highway 30 onto Cedar River Road.
The project is to improve safety and allow drivers more space to slow down and exit the highway.
Marked detours will be posted.
Cedar River Road is an alternative route for drivers traveling between the Cedar Rapids Metro and Solon, bypassing the Highway 30 off ramp at Mt. Vernon.
