(Iowa City, IA) -- The University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital is hosting a free drive-up event for child safety seat inspections and installation assistance.
On Thursday, September 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. parents are encouraged to bring their vehicle, child safety seat and child to the UI Health Care Iowa River Landing where trained technicians, some with expertise in special needs, will provide instruction and help with proper installation.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says 46% of child safety seats are not correctly installed, leading to the potential for death or serious injury in a crash.
