(Des Moines, IA) -- With Election Day less than 50 days away, only about two-thirds of Iowans are registered to vote.
With 30-percent of registered voters listed as inactive, the state is taking steps to make sure voter registrations are up-to-date before Election Day.
Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate tells Iowa's News Now that "we reach out and we ask you 'Hey, are you still there?' A lot of people move and we want to make sure we have the most current information out there."
Pate says more than 2.2 million Iowans are registered to vote--about 30,000 more than in 2020.
