Saturday's meeting will be the first all-time meeting between the Cyclones and Cougars, and first since Houston joined the Big 12 in 2023.

ISU scored 52 points on the Arkansas State Red Wolves in last week's win in Ames, the most points scored by the Cyclones since Iowa State's 59-7 win over Kansas in 2021.

Sophomore quarterback Rocco Becht is second in the Big 12 in completion percentage (68.4%), playing behind an offensive line that's allowed just two sacks through three games.

First-year head coach Willie Fritz and Houston have struggled to start the new season, starting 1-3 and opening conference play last week with a shutout loss against Cincinnati.

The Cougars offense has been among one of the worst in college football this year, ranking in the bottom ten nationally with an average of 13 points scored per game.

Iowa State has won four straight Big 12 road games dating back to last season.
