UPDATE: Person Rescued From Omaha Fire Dies

(Omaha, NE) -- The Omaha Fire Department says a person rescued from a fire this (Wednesday) morning has died. Crews were called to a vacant building at1127 N. 20th St. First responders used CPR and advanced life support measures on the victim, who was then transported to the University Medical Center in critical condition. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, the victim died shortly after arrival.

A full autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, and the incident remains an active investigation. The identity of the victim will be withheld pending notification of next of kin. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
