Marion Police Investigating Possible Hate Crime At High School Parade

(Marion, IA) -- Marion Police and the FBI are investigating harassment involving students at the Linn-Mar High School parade this week.

Kathyrn Power, faculty supervisor for Spectrum speaking with Iowa's News Now says one of the students in the parade picked up a box-cutter that had been thrown at them.

Others have reported slurs shouted at participants from the LGBTQ club.

The Linn-Mar Community School District, and the city of Marion is condemning the behavior, emphasizing that all students should feel safe and respected.
