Drought Conditions Expanding in Iowa

(Iowa) -- Drought conditions are continuing to expand in much of Iowa.

The U.S. Drought Monitor Map released Thursday shows almost 94 percent of the state reporting some level of drought conditions. Most of the state is in abnormally dry conditions with about a quarter of the state in moderate drought. The level of drought varies by region.

Two counties in west central Iowa are in severe drought, but five counties in southern Iowa are drought-free.
