(Des Moines, IA) -- Two more local Red Cross volunteers are headed to North Carolina. Mike Seifer and Richard Wilson will be helping with Red Cross efforts to feed those impacted by Hurricane Helene. It's Wilson's 10th, out-of-state deployment. Emily Holley of the Red Cross in Des Moines says so far, 26 central Iowa Red Cross volunteers have been deployed.

More than 100 utility workers from Iowa continue efforts to restore power in areas hit by Hurricane Helene. Crews from Iowa Electric Cooperatives, Alliant Energy, and Mid-American Energy were deployed shortly after the hurricane hit the Southeast.

Two local pilots, one a senior at Waukee High School, flew a plane-load of supplies to North Carolina today (Monday).
