(Adair County, IA) -- Several communities are under a boil order in Adair County after a water main break.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources those living in Greenfield, Orient, and Fontanelle should boil tap water until further notice. The DNR says any tap water to be used for cooking or drinking should be boiled for at least 2 minutes until samples test negative for bacteria.
Tap water is safe to use for non-consumption purposes.
