(Undated) -- Iowans are posting photos of the northern lights on their Facebook pages this morning.
The photos come from across the state, and show brilliant green and magenta lights filling the night sky.
The light show extended into neighboring states, especially to the north.
The U.S. Space Weather Agency reported a G4 severe geomagnetic storm from the sun last night that caused the vivid northern lights.
