Polk County Jury Convicts Trucker In Tow Truck Driver's Death

(Polk County, IA) -- A Polk County jury has convicted a truck-driver in a tow-truck driver's death November 12, 2022. The truck-driver, 55-year-old Dmytro Prysich, of Hamtramck, Michigan was convicted of vehicular homicide while under the influence. Police say he hit tow truck driver 45-year-old Joshua Villa of Adel as Villa was loading a stalled car onto his tow truck at mile marker 130 of I-80/35. Clive Police arrested the driver a short time later, his blood alcohol level was (.196) over the legal limit.

Prysich was acquitted of leaving the scene of an accident causing death.

Prysich faces 25 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 10. 

The investigation was conducted by the Iowa State Patrol and Urbandale and Clive police.
