(Polk County, IA) -- Satellite Early Voting begins today (Thursday) in Polk County. Two locations will be open 10 am. to 4 p.m. at Park Fair Mall (100 E. Euclid Ave., #105) in Des Moines and at the Grimes Public Library (200 NE Beaverbrooke Blvd).

Friday, October 18th, three locations will be open for early voting from 10 am to 4 p.m.:

Drake University Knapp Center-Shivers Courtside Club, 2601 Forest Avenue, Des Moines

Faith Baptist Bible College, 1900 NW4th Street, Ankeny

Grandview University Student Center, 2811 E. 14st, Des Moines

More satellite early voting locations will open next week.

Those locations are in Altoona, Ankeny, Des Moines, Johnston, Urbandale, and West Des Moines.

Polk County Auditor Jamie Fitzgerald says each location will have physical ballots for multiple precincts in that area. Polk County voters from other precincts can vote at any satellite location by using the ADA-compliant machine to find their precinct's ballot. The voter can then review their completed ballot, print it out, and submit the ballot in an envelope.

Early voting is also available during business hours at the Polk County Auditor's office. Fitzgerald says that began Wednesday, 10-15. He says it was busy. Voter turn out is typically much larger for Presidential elections. Fitzgerald is predicting 80-85% turnout in Polk County.
