(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Alliant Energy is reporting a new phone scam in eastern Iowa.
The company says someone is posing as an Alliant representative, calling customers, and asking them to make a payment over the phone to avoid having their power turned off. Alliant says customers should not give out any personal or financial information over the phone and should instead log into the company's website to check their account status.
