(Winneshiek Co, IA) -- A Minnesota man faces 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing a motorcycle and driving it to Iowa where he broke into a home and stole firearms.

58-year-old Steven Current of Canton, Minnesota, plead guilty in a Cedar Rapids court Tuesday to stealing a motorcycle in Minnesota on June 9, 2022, and driving it to northeast Iowa's Winneshiek County on September 26, where he broke into a rural home and stole eight guns.

Current admitted to dropping two unscratched Minnesota lottery tickets during the burglary, leading to his identification through images from the store where he purchased the tickets and the homes' security cameras.

He is currently in the custody of the United States Marshal Service and could have to pay $500,000 in fines.
