1.3 Million Iowa Chickens Being Fed By The Iowa Department Of Agriculture

(Charles City, IA) -- 1.3 million chickens in Iowa are getting feed from the Iowa Department of Agriculture.

Dozens of farmers in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin were left without feed and chicks after a Minnesota company filed for bankruptcy and closed Pure Prairie Poultry in Charles City, Iowa.

The United States Department of Agriculture and Iowa department of Agriculture are considering possible financial aid.

For now, farmers can file claims with the USDA for help.
