(Davenport, IA) -- A Davenport neighbor is being hailed as a hero after a Tuesday fire.
Fire crews say the man heard children screaming from a second story window of a home on fire on Sturdevant Street around 5:00 a.m. yesterday morning.
The man reportedly encouraged the children to jump from the window to safety.
No injuries were reported. The Fire Marshall says the home was heavily damaged.
