(Iowa City, IA) -- Nothing changed after a community meeting on the demolition of Hills Elementary School in Iowa City. The Iowa City Community School District still plans to tear the building down.
Matt Degner, ICCSD Superintendent tells Iowa's News Now that it's sad anytime a school needs to be torn down, but he's excited about how the process has progressed.
The district expects to save a million dollars annually by demolishing Hills.
Former Hills students are being bused to other schools.
