(Des Moines, IA) -- A new substance abuse and mental health treatment center is open in Des Moines.
The Life Services Center, located at 1914 Carpenter Avenue, offers treatment to people with substance abuse and offers alternative treatment for patients experiencing a mental health crisis who may have previously been taken to an emergency room or jail.
The center was made possible by a partnership between Polk County, the City of Des Moines, Broadlawns, and St. Vincent De Paul.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held this morning at 11:00 a.m.
